TRAVEL TO THE IPGSA 2025 CONFERENCE:

The IPGSA Conference Site:

The conference will be held at the Lory Student Center, on the campus of Colorado State University (CSU), in the city of Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. Fort Collins is situated at 5,000 feet (approximately 2,000 meters) of altitude, which is usually well tolerated by most people. Fort Collins is a beautiful, bike friendly, beer friendly :) town, on the foot of the majestic Rocky Mountains, with a vibrant community united by sustainability, healthy living and outdoor activities.

VISAS:
The United States requires a VISA for entry of citizens of certain countries. Please check whether your country of citizenship requires you to have a US VISA to attend IPGSA 2025.  IPGSA can provide you a letter of invitation if required for your VISA application, please contact us at IPGSA2025@gmail.com. It is the responsibility of speakers and attendees to obtain a VISA in time for attendance.

Airport
The closest airport is Denver International Airport, 73 miles (117 Km) from Fort Collins, approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes drive. This is one of the largest airports in the USA, and has frequent direct international flights to Asia, Europe and Central America.

From Denver International Airport to Fort Collins:
IPGSA will be running shuttle buses from Denver International Airport to Fort Collins, on June 29, and on the final day of the conference, July 3. Shuttles are included with the registration, and times will be advertised later.

Commercial shuttle companies can also be used to reach Fort Collins. These include LANDLINE and GROOME. If you choose this option, please see the schedules, prices and book your travel directly on their website. These are large or medium-sized air-conditioned buses that will take you and your luggage directly from the airport to Fort Collins. For LANDLINE, choose CSU Transit Center as the final stop, which is 10 minutes walking distance to the Summit Residence Hall housing. For GROOME choose Harmony Transit Center as the final stop, and then take an Uber/Lyft/Taxi to the Summit Residence Hall housing.

Another option is to use a ride share service such as Uber or Lyft to reach Fort Collins. Prices will vary depending on time and car availability, but usually run around $120 US dollars each way.

If you are planning to travel around Colorado or the Western Unites States before or after the conference, your best alternative is to rent a car. All major car rental companies are present at the Denver International Airport. If you prefer to rent a car AFTER ARRIVAL in Fort Collins, Enterprise Rent-a-Car has a location at walking distance (30 min) from the CSU campus where the conference will be held. Other rental car companies are also available in Fort Collins, but are further from the conference site, however accessible by a short Uber/Lyft/Taxi car ride. Parking will be available at Colorado State University for car rentals. It will be FREE for those staying at the Summit Hall Housing (see ACCOMMODATIONS). Electric car charging stations are also available on campus.

Also, if you are flying United Airlines, you can also choose Fort Collins (FNL) as your final flight destination. You will arrive at the Denver International Airport and without having to leave the airport or collect your luggage, you will be able to board a shuttle bus from United, which will take you and your luggage to the Loveland Regional Airport, 15 minutes from Fort Collins, from where you can take an Uber/Lyft/Taxi to the conference site. The same can be done for your return. This service is available only a few times a day, so depending on your flight schedule it may or may not be a convenient option.

Finally, if you are coming all the way to Colorado, please consider visiting the breathtaking National Parks of the United States, devoted to conservation of natural habitats, four of them in Colorado (Rocky Mountain National Park, Great Sand Dunes National Park, Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and the archeologic sites of Mesa Verde National Park), as well as the amazing city of Denver, where you will arrive. The closest National Park is the majestic Rocky Mountain National Park, 1 hour and 15 minutes from Fort Collins. For camping reservations inside the Rocky Mountain National Park click HERE, to plan all aspects of your travel to the National Park, click HERE.

Our neighboring states of Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico and Arizona have amazing National Parks that are also a must see, including: Arches National Park (Utah), Zion National Park (Utah), Bryce Canyon National Park (Utah), Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming), Grand Teton National Park (Wyoming) and Grand Canyon National Park (Arizona). Camping sites inside the parks sell out quickly, but hotels and private camping sites outside the parks are usually available, however advanced reservations are still a must. If you decide to camp, camping gear and recreational vehicles (RVs) can be rented from various outlets. Your trip to IPGSA 2025 can be an unforgettable experience, and we suggest you to find a guidebook, plan your trip and not miss the opportunity of a lifetime to experience vast, untouched nature as you may have never seen before.
